The lukewarm man

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16

One day, a man suddenly died. As he stood before the Lord, the Lord proclaimed his fate and condemned the man to an eternal Hell. Before he departed, he pleaded with the Lord saying: 'Lord, I feel I have been a good person most of my life, I never murdered anyone or really hurt anyone's feelings. I worked hard all my days and took care of my own. I had compassion for others that were suffering in the world and I always said that I believed and had faith in you. Why then have you given me such a terrible sentence'?

The Lord replied saying, 'It is true that there is no deep rooted evil in your heart and you never laid a hand on a living soul, however you never repented for any of the sins you committed and all you’re living days you were unaware and accepting of your own iniquity. As I search every corner of your heart, I am aware of your compassion and saddened that you didn't have the courage to give more kindly to the poor and ease the suffering of my children in the world. You gathered much unto yourself and you're belly was always full. I am aware that you loved your children but even an evil man will take care of his own. Your faith in me was dispassionate and your prayer was lukewarm at best'.

The man then replied to the Lord, ‘Lord you say I never repented, but I wasn't aware that I was committing all these sins and if I hadn't died suddenly without warning, I could have changed for the better. Please Lord tell me how I offended you before my fate is sealed'. The Lord replied saying, 'It has been written that I am coming to all mankind like a thief in the night, so also it was with your death.The deception of sin overpowered you in life and you allowed yourself to be influenced by doctrines of demons. You listened to false prophets who approved of the things that I have forbidden. I blessed your life with a family and wealth and many virtues yet you discarded my decrees and chose to live in sexual immortality and you took my name in vain with careless words. The words that flow from a man’s mouth are the true workings of his heart.

You attended unspiritual church's on the Sabbath paying great attention and detail to your own appearance so as others would admire you, yet your words and prayers to me were empty and meaningless. You conducted yourself with haughty eyes and a proud heart and speaketh lies that sowed discord among others. Never did you truly seek out the Lord Jesus Christ or study whole heartedly my holy scriptures. Your faith in me was lukewarm and mildly sentimental and you said in your heart that you didn't believe in Satan or Hell. All these are an abomination to me and I have no choice but to assign you with the unbelievers the idolators the hypocrites and sexually immoral.

The man then replied:, 'Oh Lord, How can I warn my loved ones that they too shouldn't suffer this terrible fate that I must endure.'

The Lord replied saying, You cannot help them now, they must choose for themselves. I have given them a freewill and self determination and your forefathers for guidance and the holy scriptures. One day all men will stand before me and give an account for his life and all that they have said and done. Those hypocrites with a lukewarm faith who exalt themselves will be humbled before me. Those who attended unspiritual churches and never sought out the truth will be cast down with the unbelievers and the wicked. I will judge the false teachers and false prophets of the land for their deceit and for leading many astray, but you will not escape as your ears were itching for their lies.

Therefore everyone must seek out my word and seek out the truth. There is only one truth, and that is in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have made a new covenant with my people and he/she that believes that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead will receive his salvation and eternal life. Those that repent for their sins in their heart will be baptised and anointed with my Holy Spirit and guided into righteousness. For my people will be justified, sanctified and glorified and their iniquity will be pardoned and the world and the enemy will have no power over them.

Therefore I say to everyone, seek me out and listen to my holy ones, those that I have set apart and have been washed in the blood of Christ. Listen to them as they are the bearers of truth and have been written into the book of life. They wear a belt of truth, a breastplate of righteousness, a shield of faith, a helmet of salvation and hold a sword of the spirit. To the lukewarm I say; seek me out and turn away from the evils of this world and the wicked apostate churches and the false teachers and liars. Seek out your salvation as I have not forgotten you. I have a special place for you in my heart and I am waiting on you. I am waiting on you...
